Wine & Chocolate Festival

February 3-5, 2017

Coastline Convention Center, 503 Nutt Street, Wilmington

The annual Wine & Chocolate Festival at Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington, NC, features a Grand Tasting, live entertainment, a two-day marketplace, and children’s activities. Kids under six admitted free.

Friday, 7-10pm ($45): Grand Tasting with hors d’oeuvres and entertainment.

Saturday, 11am to 6pm ($10-$15): Marketplace.

Sunday, Noon to 4pm ($10-$15): Marketplace.

Chocolate Fest

February 9, 2017, 3:30 PM

Main Library, 201 Chestnut Street, Wilmington

The Chocolate Fest at the Main Library in downtown Wilmington, NC, is for elementary school kids and features chocolate-focused games and activities, chocolate trivia, finger painting with chocolate, and chocolate prizes. Go online to register.

Local Food Conference

February 10, 2017, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

UNCW Burney Center, 601 South College Road, Wilmington

Feast Down East presents its annual Local Food Conference at the Burney Center in Wilmington. Workshop topics include agricultural and gardening techniques, farm business skills, understanding food systems, cooking demonstrations and tastings, and food policy work.  Here’s the full schedule.

FUNDRAISER: Polar Plunge, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk

February 11, 2017, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Location:Kure Beach Pier, K Avenue, Kure Beach

Take the plunge into the chilly Atlantic Ocean for the 11th Annual Polar Plunge at the Kure Beach Pavilion. Events also include a 5K and 1-Mile Fun Walk, live music by the Prime Time Band, silent auction, costume contest, art, food, and more. Proceeds go toward Special Olympics New Hanover County. Register online to participate. 

Cost: $30.00 to $50.00 (Free for spectators)

Oscar Shorts

Cinematique and WHQR Radio present Oscar Shorts at Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington, NC. A collective screening of the 2016 Academy Award nominated short films from the Live Action, Animated & Documentary categories.

4th Annual Miracles in Motion 5K and 1-Mile Run, Walk, and Roll

New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s 4th Annual Miracles in Motion 5K and 1-Mile Run, Walk, and Roll is presented by The Laymon Group and benefits The Miracle League. The event features a fully-accessible course for people with and without disabilities. Register online to participate.

FUNDRAISER: 15th Annual Full Belly Feast

The 15th Annual Full Belly Feast at the Coastline Conference Center in downtown Wilmington, NC, features an evening of international cuisine inspired by the countries where the Full Belly Project works. There will also be live music with Axiom and a variety of live and silent auction items from around the world.
