WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5 – SUNDAY, AUGUST 9: CHICAGO! THE MUSICAL
Join Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart as they share their story in the acclaimed musical, Chicago, at Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington. The Opera House Theatre Company is excited to present this production that includes theatre classics such as All That Jazz and Mister Cellophane.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8 AT 9:15AM: SUPER HERO FUN RUN
If you have a superhero amongst you, make sure they come along to the Super Hero Fun Run at Myrtle Grove Library! This fun run includes a 1-mile walk, jog or run for all ages. To show off your superhero skills, you’ll have to dodge some water balloon obstacles along the route! After the run, your superheroes can show off their art skills at the craft table. A donation of a canned good is appreciated.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8 AT 10:30AM: BEGINNER SKATEBOARD CLINIC
Boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 have a chance to learn how to skateboard at Greenfield Grind Skatepark. Instructors will teach kids about the equipment, skateboard safety and some fundamental skate skills. The $15 admission includes admission to a free skating for the day of the clinic as well as two free day passes. Pre-registration is required.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 9 AT DUSK: MOVIE AT THE LAKE
This summer tradition continues throughout the summer and Sunday’s showing is the family-friendly classic, Beethoven. The whole family will enjoy the saga of the big St. Bernard and the shenanigans he gets into. Bring your picnic blankets, chairs and treats to enjoy this edition of Movie at the Lake!

MONDAY, AUGUST 10 TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 15: SUMMER POP-UP: NATIVE AMERICANS
Cape Fear Museum continues its Summer Pop-Up! series with an exhibition on Native Americans. Kids of all ages can learn about the daily lives of the tribes who occupied the Cape Fear Region. The museum also has local artifacts and tools to explore. There are two sessions every day at 11am and 2:30pm.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 AT 9:30AM: PRINCIPLES OF LANDSCAPE DESIGN
This class at the New Hanover County Arboretum will teach students about landscape design and its basic principles. This class will help participants start planning and designing their outdoor spaces and include a tour of some of the Arboretum gardens. Pre-registration is required.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25 AT 6:30PM: TUESDAY NIGHT FAMILY NIGHT
The Carolina Beach Boardwalk features Tuesday Night Family Night! The events include games, line dancing, bounce houses, raffles and other live entertainment. Kids of all ages are invited!

FRIDAY, AUGUST 28 TO SUNDAY, AUGUST 30: FRECKLE FACE STRAWBERRY
Based on a book by Julianne Moore, this is a story of a girl who will do anything to get rid of her freckles. The musical will be performed by local talent and is directed by LJ Woodard. This is a show that the whole family is sure to enjoy.
