Description:

Summer is the time for kids to get active after being in class all year. Wii Sports and Just Danc video games will be available from 9:30am-12:30pm at the Children’s Room at Northeast Library in Wilmington, NC, on Friday mornings in July. No reservations are required to play on Wii Fitness Friday, but a parent must sign for their child’s use of game controllers.

Saturday, July 2, 2016, 10:30 am – Beginner Skateboard Clinic

Location: Greenfield Grind Skatepark, 302 Willard Street, Wilmington, NC 28402

Cost: $15.00

Description:

Kids from seven to 12 years of age are invited to the Beginner Skateboard Clinic at Greenfield Grind Skatepark in Wilmington, NC. Kids will be familiarized with equipment, identifying safety hazards, the basic setup of a skatepark, and establishing fundamental skills. Registration includes skating for the day as well as two free day passes. Pre-registration is required.

Location: Hoggard High School, 4305 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28403

Description:

Connor Barth, who has played in the NFL for the Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, and is currently the kicker for the New Orleans Saints, and Casey Barth host their annual football clinic at Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC. The clinic features instruction and kicking demonstrations; instruction on how to warm up, train and prepare mentally; and kicking competitions for each age group. Thhere will also be a Q&A session and speeches. If you have a football or kicking tee, bring it with you!

The Thursday night Movie with Mr. Max series continues at Northeast Library in Wilmington, NC, this time featuring the animated favorite Inside Out. The movie is about a girl named Riley who, after moving with her family from Minnesota to San Francisco, attempts to keep her emotions (Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, Sadness) in check. Covered drinks and light snacks are permissible to bring along. Rated PG. Running time: 1 hour, 42 minutes.
