What to do in Wilmington, NC: October Edition
Wilmington is a great place to live this time of year. With festivals and fundraisers, there are loads of local events to enjoy in our fine city. Here are just a few events going on in Wilmington in October.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3: FUNDRAISER: 7TH ANNUAL RUN FOR THE TA TAS
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, which means it’s time to don your pink garb and help support finding a cure for breast cancer! The 7th annual Run for the Ta Tas is a 5k Race and 1-mile walk around Mayfaire Town Center and begins at 8am. All proceeds benefit The Pink Ribbon Project, Love is Bald and The Pretty in Pink Foundation. You can register online.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7: 2ND ANNUAL PINK BOWTIE EVENT
Another local event supporting breast cancer awareness is Jeff Gordon Chevrolet’s Pink Bowtie Event. Featuring food trucks for attendees and swag bags for the first 50 ladies through the door, this event is sure to be a blast! Guests who donate to the local charity, Love is Bald, during the event have a chance to win a 2015 Chevy Cruze. This event runs from 4pm-7pm.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10 to SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11: HANOVER KENNEL CLUB DOG SHOW
Dog lovers rejoice! Here’s the chance to see 500 canines compete for Best in Show! The Hanover Kennel Dog Show will run from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday at Legion Stadium. Please note that pets are not allowed unless they are entered into the competition.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15: AN EVENING WITH THE VIENNA BOYS CHOIR
World-renowned Vienna Boys Choir will be holding a performance as part of UNCW’s Office of the Arts Presents Series. The Vienna Boys Choir was founded in 1498 and has been performing around the world, showcasing their arrangements of Lanner and Strauss as well as their own original works. This is sure to be a special evening of beautiful music.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 to SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18: WILMINGTON SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
Meet at the Watermark Marina to enjoy fresh North Carolina seafood, live music and cooking demonstrations at the inaugural Wilmington Seafood Festival! On the scenic banks of the Cape Fear River, this event is sure to let you have your fill of seafood and local fare. Saturday hours are 11am to 7pm and Sunday hours are 11am to 6pm.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25: FALL FESTIVAL AND CORN MAZE
If you’re looking to close out October with a bang, head on over to Hubb’s Farm in Clinton for the Fall Festival and Corn Maze. The maze will be shaped like North Carolina and the event will feature hayrides, slides, a tire mountain and other special events. Visit hubbscornmaze.com for more information.
