FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 TO SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8: CAPE FEAR FAIR & EXPO

In its 51st year, the Cape Fear Fair & Expo at Wilmington International Airport includes livestock exhibits and competitions, acrobats, horticultural contests, rides, children’s activities, food, family fun and live entertainment.
Please note: A Walk Around Ticket is available for $5 and at the gate; it excludes rides and is only valid Monday through Thursday.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 TO SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15: 21ST ANNUAL CUCALORUS FILM FESTIVAL

The 21st Annual Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, NC, is one of the most popular events in the Port City and features more than 200 films in every genre. Films include dance performances, music videos, works-in-progress, international films as well as Kidsalorus, featuring movies suitable for children. SATURDAY, NOV 14: CHARITY CROCK POT CHILI COOKOFF

Taste some of the best chili in town at the Charity Crock Pot Chili Cookoff at Rack’M Darts and Billiards. The event  features 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Fee is $1 for each vote. Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross. The cookie kicks off at 5:00 PM.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17: PRESCHOOL MATH & SCIENCE

New Hanover County Public Library presents PreSchool Math & Science at Myrtle Grove Library in Wilmington. The event is a chance for kids ages 3 to 6 and their parents to play, learn, and explore math and science through interactive stories, hands-on experiments, and exploration stations. Pre-register by phone or online. The fun begins at 3:30 PM

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20 TO SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22: WILMINGTON RIVERFEST

RESCHEDULED FROM OCT. 2-4 DUE TO EXCESSIVE RAIN. Riverfest is an annual street fair in historic downtown Wilmington, NC, and features street food, arts and crafts, dance performances, fireworks (Saturday at 9:05pm), children’s activities, car shows, stand-up paddle (SUP) race, live music, and more — all in a scenic setting along the banks of the Cape Fear River. Other attractions: Adventure Zone, Kidz Zone, Skateboard Tournament, Wakeboard Competition, Film Festival, Motorcross, and Great Waiters Wine Race. HOURS: Friday, 6-11pm; Saturday, Noon to 11pm; Sunday, Noon to 6pm.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24: POPLAR GROVE FARMERS’ MARKET

FINAL MARKET OF THE SEASON (NOTE DIFFERENT DAY OF THE WEEK). The Poplar Grove Farmers’ Market in Wilmington, NC, features fresh local fruits and veggies, dairy products, meats and seafood, baked goods, and sweets, plus arts & crafts, cut flowers, wine and more. HOURS: 8am to 1pm.
