Sunday, May 1, 2016, 10:00am: Historic Downtown Marketplace
Sundays from 10am to 3pm, the Historic Downtown Wilmington Marketplace will feature more than 30 rotating artists for an ever-changing collection of locally made art, jewelry, and handmade items. The marketplace will be there every Sunday through October 26.

Saturday, May 7, 2016, 8:00am: NHCS Teacher Trot 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run
The New Hanover County Schools Teacher Trot 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run at Ashley High School in Wilmington, NC, encourages wellness for students, staff, and the community. The 5K begins and ends at the track and loops around Anderson Elementary and Ashley High School. Apple Awards will be given to Age Group Winners. Registration is online.

Thursday, May 12, 2016, 10:00am: Little Explorers: Digging in the Dirt
Little Explorers: Digging in the Dirt, at the Cape Fear Museum is a chance for kids ages 3 to 6 to explore the world with hands-on outdoor activities, experiments, and story time. Moved inside in case of inclement weather. Parental participation is required.

The Hit Men: Former Stars of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons comes to the Mainstage at Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington, NC, featuring hits by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Tommy James & The Shondells, The Critters, Carly Simon, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Barry Manilow, Elton John and KiKi Dee.

Sunday, May 15, 2016, 12:00pm: Southern Exposure: A Photographic Arts Show
The Brooklyn Arts Center and SALT Studio Photography present Southern Exposure: A Photographic Arts Show from noon to 6pm. Food trucks, coffee shop, and cash bar available. Attendance at our events, locally and regionally, is outstanding. Admission fee includes a raffle ticket. Kids under 13 get in free.

Saturday, May 21, 2016, sunset: Movie in the Park: Inside Out
The Movie in the Park at Leland Municipal Park features “Inside Out”, starring Amy Poehler and Bill Hader (Rated PG; 1 hour, 35 minutes). Bring a blanket, chairs, and a picnic. Pets and alcohol are not allowed.

Monday, May 30, 2016, 8:00am: Wrightsville Beach Farmers’ Market
The Wrightsville Beach Farmers’ Market, open from 8am to 1pm, meets near Seawater Lane at the town’s municipal grounds, and features vendors offering fresh and local produce, plus flowers, crafts, bread and other baked items, herbs, dairy products, meat and seafood, treats for dogs and more. The market will be there every Monday until September 26.
